As per the government decision, the District Hospital is supposed to distribute 70 sorts of medicines to the needy while primary health centers and sub-health posts are expected to provide 40 sorts of medicines free of cost to patients. There are one district hospital, four primary health centers and 104 sub health posts in the district. Storage of medicines in majority of them has already run out, forcing patients to visit the private health clinics and pharmacies to purchase medicines.
