Parliamentarians have urged the government not to make any hurry in restructuring the local bodies. Speaking in the special hour in today's meeting of the Legislature-Parliament, they demanded to rethink about it as per the people's sentiments at a time when the Local Bodies' Restructuring Commission released a report regarding this. The report has mentioned that there would be 565 local bodies. On the occasion, Bharat Bahadur Khadka and Ramhari Khatiwada of the Nepali Congress, urged not to make any hurry and to be sensitive in restructuring the local bodies. Similarly, Yogendra Chaudhary of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Democratic) said that the proposed report regarding the restructuring of the local bodies could not benefit the people. Likewise, CPN (UML) lawmaker Hira Bahadur KC drew the attention of the government, saying flood and landslide victims in Pyuthan have not received relief materials while Brijesh Kumar Gupta of the Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party said that restructuring of the local bodies should be carried out on the basis of criteria of reaching the government services to the people's houses. Aindra Kumar Nembang of the CPN (ML) said that adopting the federalism means reaching the government services to the people's level therefore, the federal structures should be developed incorporating the same spirit.
