Nepali youths fight with Indians to prevent dam reconstruction at border




The fight between Nepalis and Indians continued throughout the day Thursday in the southern belt of the district after the Nepalis demolished the embankment being reconstructed unilaterally by the Indian side at the Nepal-India border.
Indian side tried to rebuild the embankment after it was collapsed by the floods. But the Nepalis prevented the reconstruction which resulted in frequent fights between the two sides.
Meanwhile, a team of Chief District Officer, Baldev Gautam and chief of the securities in Saptari reached the place of incident, said police. CDO Gautam also informed that efforts were underway to obviate further clash.
The locals from Rampura, Malhaniya, Tilathi, and Sakarpura belonging to Nepali territory have said the embankment built by India was inundating their settlements.
